Kitchen Upgrade - ORC Week 6

Countertop Drama and some more!!

The update today is more on a positive front, however, it was extremely stressful getting here. While I never imagined that home upgrade projects are a smooth sail, I never would have imagined that countertop in my case would give me sleepless nights, tears and agony. I surely am not sharing details of the fabricators. If you wanna know, you can email me.

The project has been delayed, the painting crew couldn’t complete the kitchen and return next week. The cabinets are ready to go in, and stalled for a week now, because everyone has been waiting on the countertops. Alas…it’s all in the past now.

Moving forward…..and without getting into the details of it all, we finally have the countertops done….drumrollsssssssss!! And while I did not like the process and would never want anyone to go through the stress, the outcome is beautiful.

While the under cabinet electrical has been hooked up, the final lights go in after the cabinets are done, so they can be nicely hidden.

Obviously the painting isn’t done, however, the rest of the house is complete, and looks gorgeous. I will share some pictures next week.

Paul was very quick to send his team over to get the cabinet work started. They have already made tremendous progress, however, are still waiting on a few doors, due to incorrect measurement. Hope it all gets sorted out in time for the final reveal.

This is refacing my friends…and I couldn’t be more happier!So glad we didn’t throw out perfectly good cabinets.

We are very glad we went with Paul’s gut on retaining this little cabinet!

BTW…good news, our dishwasher and vent are here and installed. Also, we are working with University Electric, to hopefully have our gas range and speed oven, sooner, also in time for the reveal. Fingers crossed.

We also ordered a set of island lights and a set of counter stools, and are keeping our fingers crossed to receive them in time, also for the reveal. More info next week.
