Kitchen Upgrade - ORC Week 3
It is coming together…phew!!
All posts and kitchen floors are now leveled, subfloors installed and ready for cabinet crew to come in.
I love that the process was well explained and documented.
I really appreciate that Suren and his crew was so obsessed and determined to level the floors. Floors are the foundation of good design, and I appreciate their professionalism!
Cabinet Magic..Look at the layout Paul and his crew have pulled off. And this is a refacing job..simply amazing.
The only cabinets that are new, is the corner turning cabinet, and the cabinet under the sink that was damaged by water. Everything else is the original deal. Of course, we will be switching out the drawer boxes for new ones, and adding a new pull-out mechanism for the trash can next to the sink. Super super functional, and everyone loves the new flow. Paul has been amazing at planning the new kitchen layout, and has worked extremely hard to achieve the new height.
Paul even took the time to explain to me on what to expect for when the flooring and countertops go in, so as to not compromise on the height and the minimum required to fit the dishwasher.

This short woman can now work in the kitchen without a worry with less than 36 inch custom countertops
Paul’s Pro tip: When flooring in the kitchen, always ensure that rest of the kitchen floor is disjoint from the flooring under the dishwasher. Should you need a repair in future or need to change the floor due to water damage, the rest of the kitchen flooring is not impacted. How cool!!! I would have never thought of it…and I truly appreciated his experience and thoughtfulness.
Next step, Flooring!! The flooring delivery has been delayed, thanks to the COVID supply chain issues…thankfully the ones we chose are In Stock and it’s just a matter of them reaching us.
In the meantime though, some progress pictures of the staircase and the lovely new arches to match our window, that Suren and his flooring crew has finished.
The 90’s dated look is all gone…looks so modern!!
