Be our guest!!
Welcome to the One Room Challenge, Spring 2024.
This season we are upgrading our Guest Bedroom. I wish to welcome more and more of our family and while my intent is out in the universe, this drabby space needs a desperate pick-me-up!
Guest Bedroom is a blessing. Having grown up in a one bedroom apartment, we have had no concept of maintaining a guest bedroom. It has always served as a storage space, full of clutter and chaos. Time to upgrade our thought process and leave all this behind.
Our Guest bedroom welcomes anyone coming through the garage entryway. As result, kids would dump their school bags, jackets, lunch boxes, etc after school.
My Home office desk, as placed near the doorway, is always cluttered with little knick knacks, stuff that everyone wants to lose as they enter the house.
The closet is a storage to old kids furniture pieces, jackets and other junk. When parents have visited, this space wasn’t too functional with only one shelf on the top. This needs more organization and functionality.
The door swings into the room and hits the wall and part of the closet. This just isn’t functional, and it all needs some love and discipline.
The Moodboard
When planning some major elements for the room, I knew I wanted to be bolder than our existing ‘Simply White’ walls. This Northbound room gets light all day long, although with a gray cast. So, I love how our existing paint makes it look warmer and serene, but, the use of wallpapers and vintage decor on the rise, makes me want to have one.
My style yet isn’t so bold, so I will marry modern, eclectic with vintage touches to give this room it’s touch of elegance.
The plan
Demo the closet wall followed by repairs
Wall paneling
Wall stencils or wallpaper
Upgrade the door trims
(VJ)Build-in closets and desk
Install new door
Decor and Furnish
We are excited and look forward to this transformation over the next 8 weeks.
Thank you for coming over and joining in to support us and all amazing participants at the Spring 2024 One Room Challenge.
